Nevada Solar One

BROADLANDS HAS SET THE GLOBAL STANDARD

In 2006, Acciona Energia began preparations to build a 64 MW commercial scale solar energy plant encompassing 350 square acres with a max capacity of 75 MW – the largest Concentrating Solar Power energy project in the United States in seventeen years. With a construction staff of 750 people, Acciona aimed at providing electricity to Nevada quickly, on a strict budget. In order to get their project in the ground, Acciona chose Broadlands.

Broadlands’ unique and innovative approach to proactive risk management ensured that dedicated project funds were used solely for project expenses and that Nevada Solar One was completed on time and on budget, facilitating millions of dollars of owner savings. NSO realized the lowest cost per MW in this technology ever built, in just eighteen months.

“There is no question that Broadlands  was the key reason why our project was built on time and on budget… The company was worth every penny of its fee and I have no reservation in recommending this company as owner’s representative, project funds administrator or project risk manager…”

 - Jose Manuel Nieta, Director. ACCIONA ENERGIA, S.A.
